Join us in building the confidence and resilience of young people through the power of high-quality outdoor learning.
Bowles is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the borders of Kent and Sussex, the charity for young people was established in 1964. We provide high quality outdoor education through our passionate, well qualified staff team, adventurous outdoor activities, amazing facilities, home cooked food and an ethos of learning and development throughout everything we do.
As a charity we rely on a diverse Board of Trustees to support the work of the charity.
Due to a number of trustees retiring over the next year, Bowles is looking to recruit up to 3 new trustees.
We encourage applications from those who haven’t acted as a trustee before, as well as those that have. As a trustee you will have a strategic influence in shaping the future of Bowles at a time when connecting children with outdoor learning is more important than ever.
Our new trustees will have a passion for outdoor learning. We are particularly interested in skills and experience in one or more of the following areas to augment those of the existing board:
- Property/Facilities Management
- Business management
What is expected?
The Trustees have overall control of the charity. Trustees set its direction and strategy, monitor its performance, and offer scrutiny and support. The day to day running of the Centre is entirely in the hands of its Director and staff.
The Board normally meets 4 times a year, onsite at Bowles Rocks. Meetings last approximately 2-3 hours. The role is voluntary.
To arrange an informal discussion please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
To apply, please send a letter to email@example.com which tells us:
- Why you are interested in this role
- How you can contribute to the success of Bowles
