We enable your apprentices to achieve their full potential through programmes that build confidence, team work and communication skills.
Engage, challenge and inspire your apprentices
We understand that apprentices that are new to your organisation as well as to the world of work, don’t start employment with the soft skills required to succeed in the workplace, after-all, they are not part of the student’s learning journey. However, our clients tell us that the absence of soft skills in newly acquired talent is a big problem and one that comes at a cost to the organisation. It is also important to note that the new Apprenticeship Standards will cover behaviour as well as skills and knowledge and will contribute to end-point assessment outcomes and grade.
A Work Ready programme at Bowles will take your apprentices on an intensive journey. Key elements such as its residential nature, quality of facilitation, and the presence of colleagues on the same journey, all contribute to making a significant impact. In return it gives you, the employer, an employee who is more committed, feels valued, is part of a supportive team and has a better understanding of what is expected from them back in the workplace, ready to meet the challenges ahead.
For your apprentices that are ready to take on a leadership role our Step into Leadership programme is designed to develop the skills required to take on this new challenge.
Our facilitation can support various stages of the Apprentice’s journey, be it their Selection and Recruitment, an Induction event, Team building, or a specific modular component of their Apprenticeship programme.
We have made an impact on numerous participants who have gone on to have successful careers. We take pride in working closely with our clients making each Work Ready programme authentic and true to the employer – this is why our clients come back to us year after year.
Our learning environment
We combine unique indoor and outdoor experiences with the guidance of knowledgeable and approachable facilitators. From the outset, apprentices are encouraged to contribute & engage in a way that builds self-awareness and confidence. Activities and challenges are blended effectively to highlight personal strengths and development opportunities both in an inspirational and safely controlled manner. By providing stimulating experiences in our beautiful location, apprentices leave us feeling motivated and enthused.
In 2016 our Work-Ready programme won the Bronze award at the Voice of Apprenticeship event. This award recognises our success in supporting the apprentice sector. We would like to thank our clients for their testimonials and support for our nomination.

What Laing O’Rourke said about us
Our apprentices visit the centre twice a year to take part in experiential learning modules that have been designed in collaboration with Bowles. The modules bring real benefit to our apprentices, firstly, allowing them to understand a lot about themselves and how they react to certain situations, and secondly, to learn the importance of plan – do – review – and re do, in an environment that is not as fast-paced as the workplace. The professional approach by the team at Bowles hits just the right note with our apprentices, treating them like the young adults they are, while ensuring they make the most out of the learning experience the centre provides.” Laing O’Rourke
