Outdoor Instructors/Lead instructors wanted for 2023!

If you are interested in joining Bowles as an outdoor instructor/tutor for the 2023 season, normally from February to the end of November, please contact Fizz@bowles.rocks.

Bowles delivers a wide range of activities and courses including watersports, snowsports, high activities and rock climbing, so appropriate qualifications and experience are a must!

Excellent, en-suite, on-site accommodation plus home cooked meals available. Friendly, professional, experienced team, beautiful site with onsite crag, heated indoor pool and ski slope. CPD and staff trips are all part of the experience with our most recent staff training trip being a white water rescue course with kayak coaching in N. Wales in August/Sept 2022.

The ideal candidate will have:
At least two of the following NGB’s;
o   RCI or Southern Sandstone Award/CWA
o   BC instructor or Paddlesport Leader
o   BASI or UK Snowsports level 1
o   Archery UK
o   ECRA instructor

and

·         Strong interpersonal skills
·         Experience teaching a range of outdoor activities for at least one
season
·         A professional approach
·         A passion for outdoor learning
·         Ability to swim 400m without stopping
 



Desirable
·         ML/Hill and Moorland leader/Lowland leader
·         Pool lifeguard
·         Ability to run outdoor sessions in:
Teambuilding; Orienteering; Rope courses; Archery; Snowboarding; Mountain Biking;
·         APIOL
·         D1 minibus entitlement
·         Degree
·         PGCE/CTLLS/PTLLS
·         Forest school practitioner
The ideal candidate will have:
At least two of the following NGB’s;
o   RCI training, CWA training or Southern Sandstone Award
o   BC instructor training or BC coach training
o   Paddlesport Leader
o   BASI or UK Snowsports level 1 training
o   Archery UK
o   FSRT
o   ML training/Hill and Moorland training
o   Lowland leader
o   ERCA instructor

and

·         Strong interpersonal skills
·         Experience teaching a range of outdoor activities

Freelance Facilitators/Instructors

Bowles offers high quality residential programmes for schools & colleges, outdoor activities for the public and Learning and Development Programmes for businesses and organisations.

Bowles is looking for established outdoor professionals who are used to working with a range of clients from both corporate and educational settings. Qualifications (Instructor/Leader/Trainer Quals, SPA/RCI, D1+E, Belbin, Myers Briggs) are valuable but more importantly we are looking for educators/facilitators with a friendly personality who are reliable, flexible and have a breadth of experience. Facilitation & reviewing skills within a professional development context would be advantageous.

Catering and House-Keeping General Assistant – Thank you for your interest, this role has now been filled.

General Assistants required for our thriving catering and housekeeping department. Summer roles for students also available.

20-30 hours per week, annualised contract including evenings and weekends with additional hours available during busy periods, hours allocated via a monthly rota.

Duties to include serving and assisting during meal service, vegetable preparation, laying tables, washing up, loading and unloading the dishwasher and cleaning bedrooms and bathrooms.
