If you have a group of 10-12 children in Year 5 or 6 (or would like to get one together), we run activity days in all of the school holidays.

The pictures are from Right to Left as this is how the crag is approached. The bouldering grades are in ‘Font’ grades. The text describes some of the harder bouldering problems. The coloured lines also show the grade.
Sounds maps are a great activity which can be done just about anywhere.
As a follow up to our rock climbing courses, we have created this post to remind people of some of the skills taught on the course.
Although our activities have a massive amount of inherent learning, it is important to remember that they are extremely good FUN. This is why they also make a wonderful end-of-term reward day for both primary schools and secondary schools.
Our In-School Team will arrive at your school in the morning and run a range of team building activities. This can be done on a sports field or even in a large indoor area. Your Bowles instructor will coordinate the…

With all the new changes that have come from both the Department for Education as well as the examination bodies it is tricky to understand what is actually required for assessments in GCSE rock climbing, kayaking and canoeing. Below is…

3 of my 4 daughters have had residential weeks at Bowles and the little one can’t wait. You give them an absolutely marvellous time – the week seems packed full of challenging activities, fun and adventure and each one has come home slightly changed by the experience – more confident, happy, settled and buzzing with tales of their experiences and team skills. Thank you. Merna
The course facilitator was excellent. He understood our goals and our business. We have found that we have converted the skills we learnt back into the workplace. The course has been a springboard to other targets and broken down lots of barriers – I spoke to my colleagues more during our time at Bowles than I have over the last six months. We can’t wait to revisit!
There is absolutely no doubt that I would actively suggest BOC as a venue for programmes for clients in the SE who did not wish to travel to Herefordshire or Devon or even overseas! Your infrastructure, flexibility and professionalism are head and shoulders above so many other activity centres you should be justifiably proud
The site at Bowles provides an ideal location for our apprentices to investigate inter-personal skills they might not before have considered. We are looked after well with comfortable accommodation, great food and a knowledgeable tutor staff
10/10 for educational value, with particular reference to the use of growth mindsets, plus the best food I have ever had in all my years of organising residential trips.
The ethics of Bowles also sat well with our core aims – we strive to be innovative leaders of change but with a sense of community responsibility and a desire to contribute in some way and with the charitable trust receiving all the profits from events like ours, we felt it was a small way in which we could make a difference. We had such an eventful programme that we are now planning future events with the team at Bowles!
