The Winter Explorer at Bowles is a low cost winter residential trip which crucially retains the core high quality and high activity which our clients have come to love and to expect from Bowles Outdoor Centre.
Winter Explorer is an action packed three-day residential with all meals and daytime activities included in the price. The programme will include climbing/scrambling, skiing and kayaking in our heated indoor swimming pool.
During the evening we have a range of resources and indoor spaces that teachers can use to run sessions such as a treasure-hunt, talent show or film night. Meals are home-cooked and hearty, and children and staff get a well-deserved hot chocolate at the end of the day.
We understand that the weather is colder in the winter months, so we have adapted the course to focus on activities that are the most suitable for this time of year; such as skiing, indoor kayaking and scrambling. All these sessions are highly active so the groups stay warm. We have full waterproofs on offer for kids and staff whenever needed.
This three-day course is just £159 per person in January 2027 and £196 in February 2027
This year we are offering a 5% discount or any 5 day course (4 days if there is a bank holiday) following February half term, the Easter Holidays or the Summer Holidays.
