Bowles is running Icebreaker days again this summer for kids starting secondary schools in 2026.
In August and September, we’ll be running Icebreaker days for new Y7s – please email nick@bowles.rocks if you would like to organise one for your son or daughter’s new school.
Last year we ran successful Icebreaker days for children joining: Weald of Kent, Bennett, TWGGs, TGS, Skinners, Tunbridge Wells, Grammar School for Boys, St Gregory’s, Trinity School Sevenoaks, Beacon and Judd.

Bowles’ Icebreakers aim to build confidence and reduce kids’ anxiety by helping them make new friends before starting their new school.
Where possible, we group children with others from their new form. We spend the morning running icebreaker activities and games, during the afternoon they will take part in a personal challenge such as rock climbing or a ropes course with their new classmates.
This will be the fifth year we’ve run Icebreakers at Bowles. More than 540 children attended last year and we had some really nice feedback about how their day helped to reduce anxiety as they’d got to know some faces before the first few days at their new school.
Please email nick@bowles.rocks if you are interested in Bowles running an Icebreaker for your son or daughter’s new school.
We are asking people to car-share to Bowles this summer to minimise the traffic impact on our local lanes.
